Bon Jovi set to play concert along West River on Grand Island

Grand Island, NY – More than 80,000 people are expected to attend the inaugural West River Bike Path concert on May 13th. Bon Jovi is slated as the headliner for the first ever show on the newly closed West River Parkway set to open as the West River Connector trail in Fall 2018. In an interview with front man Jon Bon Jovi, he could not be more thrilled to return to Western New York. "I can't wait to get back to Buffalo and perform in front of some our most die hard fans" said Bon Jovi. "We haven't been back since 2014, so we can't wait to ruffle the waters along West River in May". Just last month Bon Jovi was a guest on the Howard Stern Show where Stern asked Bon Jovi about his love for football and his failed attempt to purchase the Buffalo Bills. "People don't realize, I was really going to get a house [in Western New York], I was going to move there; I was really, seriously, changing my life," Bon Jovi told Stern, while reiterating that owning the team wasn't a vanity project for him. He said he was "crushed" and "brokenhearted" after losing the bid. "I didn't get the Bills but I'm excited to be headed to Grand Island. I might even wear an AJ McCarron jersey".

In addition to the concert event, event goers may purchase tent passes or rent one of the hundreds of yurts that will be available throughout the weekend of the Bon Jovi concert. This show is presented by Love's Travel Stops and Corey McGowan Productions.

    whale spotted in illinois river

A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri.

While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
