CHICAGO HOUSE MUSIC

First and foremost I LOVE CHICAGO HOUSE MUSIC. I'm going to try to make this fun. But I've been "waiting on an angel". Because every weekend some club or promoter is throwing a Old School event. It goes "on & on" every weekend. This is a big "situation". It's the same music over and over, same DJs , same looking flyer. They just move the fonts and pictures around. "No way back". How many times can't you play "love can't turn around" in one night. Especially when you have 6 DJs with almost the same identical playlist.

Hint: in case you didn't know Chicago DJs. There is new house music. But your stuck in the 80's and 90's. "A day in life" that never ends.

Spotify and Pandora plays new house music, give it a try. And yes!, record stores carry new music too. And just in case you are adventurous they have festivals that feature great new music by great producer, bangin out some awesome tracks. Spring Awakening, Riot Fest, Mamby and Lola are great festivals to attend. "Can you dig it".

So, can we please stop with the Old School House Music Bash, Freestyle Madness, The Reunion Extravaganza. And stop booking the same DJs. Most of us can tell you exactly what songs they're going to play and in what order. "De Javu"

Summer is here! I'm still going to "turn up the bass" because "I love my radio" OK I'll stop.

There is so much new house music out there everyday. Seems like the rest of the world is evolving and Chicago is Stuck in the past. Can someone please give Jack the keys to the new house. Because like the saying goes, not everyone understands HOUSE!

    whale spotted in illinois river

A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri.

While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
