Antoni Lipski, who was born in Bródno, Warsaw, Poland has recently signed a 2 year agreement with Polish Ekstraklasa champion's, Legia Warszawa. After being scouted during high school soccer games with his varsity team, George Westinghouse, and with his club, UNIA Chicago, the club's staff and representatives agreed to bring Lipski to the club.

Lipski who is a student at George Westinghouse College Prep, one of the many Chicago Public School's selective enrollment high schools located on the west side of Chicago, has been involved with the school's athletics for 4 years; having played on their soccer varsity team all 4 years. Lipski Was co-captain his junior year of high school and more recently captain his senior year. Despite the team playing in CPS's lowest division of athletics, Legia's scout saw something special in Lipski's talent. "He's extremely tall, hardly even has to jump to touch the cross-bar, and his leadership skills make him a key player on the team", were the words of the scout after watching Lipski play his last match with Westinghouse.

The major factor that led to Lipski getting signed with Legia was his outstanding performance with his other club UNIA Chicago. Having joined the amateur soccer team in late August, Lipski's performance has made him the coach's ideal starting goal keeper for every match; surpassing the veteran goal keeper already on the team. UNIA's head coach Wojciech Piotrowski shared a few words about this news. "It's no surprise really. Antoni has been playing with great confidence since he started playing with us, and [He] has given me more than enough reasons to why he should he our starting goal keeper". UNIA Chicago currently play in Chicago's Premiere Soccer League (PSL) where the team was in the first league, but has recently been promoted to the premiere league.

Lipski is set to leave back to Warsaw after graduating from high school. Once that is over, he looks forward to training with Legia II.

    whale spotted in illinois river

A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri.

While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
