SNC has made headlines this week with statements released concerning contractor involvement in the project, " We look forward to taking control of construction operations". Fluor is currently the general contractor overseeing the construction of the Westinghouse AP1000. This structural shifting will grant SNC the ultimate authority over contractor involvement and work loading those contractors.
With the final stages of core module construction wrapping up, one of the larger sub contractors on site will be readily available to assist in other areas of construction. With SNC at the reigns over contractor involvement, you can believe they will be utilizing Wachs Technical Services for a multitude of tasks. Wachs has proven to be the most successful resource on site to date. With the completion of several huge milestones under their belt, they continue to set the standards that are keeping the project alive. A SNC spokesperson commented saying, " Wachs will be our go to guys when it comes to meeting deadlines on critical path projects". We were unable to reach anyone from Wachs for comments.
As for Fluors future involvement, they will continue to manage the workforce and general construction responsibilities. The senior management changes and implementation of a nuclear safety culture is the key focus Fluor is bringing to the table moving forward. We expect great improvements and look forward to a successful relationship with Fluor and their partners on site. Together we will change the future of nuclear construction.

whale spotted in illinois river
A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
